JEMURUK ISLAND

AN UNTOUCHED ISLAND, one of the 99 islands around mainland Langkawi Island.... Named as Jemuruk Island, owned by 2 individual persons that are non of my friends.  What interest me of this island is......

one of the owners had initiated to build chalets and structures using local material such as the beach stones, coconut trunks, coconut leaves and mangrove trunks. These materials are easily found on the island. They are non-costly and save a lot of energy for processing and transporting the material to the intended site, unlike normal construction on the main land. It represents a genuine 'Cradle to Grave’. The chalets were built with modern utilities. The natural textures of the chalets’ façade treatment did reflect its own beauty. The chalets on the island were mostly built by the family members of the owner. Some had fully completed but some structures are still under construction. The owner also had experimented using solar panel. He had installed it on the roof of the hut that was built at the edge of the site. The short visit did not give me the chance to have a coffee to appreciate the amazing view from the hut. The view from the hut is breath-taking and worth to remember.
